Welcome to Unique Private Charters, the premier boat charter service in the area. My name is Kirsten Smail and I am a licensed Master Captain with 10 years experience out on the waters of beautiful Boca Ciega Bay as a Marine Specialist on board the Dolphin Quest and Sea Adventure. Prior to that, I was a Marine Mammal Trainer for SeaWorld, working with dolphins and sealions for 12 years. I was also a research assistant for our local dolphin researcher, Dr. Ann Weaver. I know over 60 dolphins by name, as they have been identified and named by their different dorsal fin patterns. My passion is to share my knowledge with our guests on an intimate charter. Whether you’re looking to explore the bay, watch dolphins frolic in their natural habitat, or just relax on the water or at the sandbar, we have a private charter option for you!
Our boat is a new 25 foot luxury Bennington tri-toon. It features tons of comfortable seating, including a Bunny Pad on the back for lounging and sunbathing. There are double biminis for shade, and a state-of-the-art Blutooth accessible stereo system with amazing sound. You can hook up your own music, or we can play one of our carefully curated playlists. Our Lily Pad ladder with wide rungs, makes getting on and off the boat a breeze for people of all ages. We will provide a huge cooler with ice and bottled water, and Big Joe floats. Your Captain and Crew have local knowledge of the area, and can teach you about the local wildlife - especially DOLPHINS! Sit back and relax as you create wonderful memories with your family and friends. If you can dream it, we can make it happen, as customized trips are our specialty.
Our 25 foot luxury Bennington tri-toon can hold up to 15 passenger, but our Coast Guard License allows us to carry 6 paying guests. We will provide a huge cooler stocked with ice and bottled waters to keep you hydrated. Depending on which trip you decide on, we will also provide Big Joe floats and snorkel equipment.
When you book online, a $100 deposit will be collected via credit card. For the remainder of the price we accept Zelle, or Cash. Gratuities are not included in the price, but are very much appreciated if we provided you with excellent guest service.
One of the things that makes us UNIQUE is our luxury 25 foot Bennington tri-toon. Brand new boat features double biminis for shade, a "Bunny Pad" lounge area for sunbathing, and a fresh water rinse to get salt off your face. Our Bluetooth compatible sound system has rear-facing speakers so you can hear your music (or one of our carefully curated playlists) while floating in the water . A Lily Pad ladder with wide steps, hangs deep in the water to provide easy access on and off the boat for people of all ages. There is also a pop-up changing room with a port-a-potty for emergencies only.
That may be a possibility if we don't have another tour booked, and if Captain and Crew are available. The fee for that would be $150 per hour payable in cash before the end of the cruise.
Of Course ! Feel free to bring any food or beverage you desire that can be stored in our huge iced cooler. Please try to avoid any glass bottles, red wine, or messy foods to keep our boat in the best condition. Remember, we will provide ice and bottled water.
Yes, we will provide life jackets for everyone. Children under 7 years old are required to wear a life jacket while underway. We will need to know what size lifejackets the children will require before the cruise, so we can ensure we have the appropriate size on board.
Yes, the Coast Guard considers any person onboard as part of the official head count. We will not leave the dock with more than 6 passengers.
Your safety is our main concern. If any dangerous conditions arise with lightening during the cruise, we will be forced to cut the trip short. We will run in light rain, and the Captain will have the final say as to whether or not we go out. This decision will be made up to one hour before the trip, because Florida weather can change so quickly. If we do run into a light rain, there is plenty of cover underneath the double biminis.
Yes, earlier cruises are better, because we tend to have storms in the late afternoon during the middle of summer.
We ask guests to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the cruise start time. This will allow you time to park, use the restroom, and sign the waivers before boarding the boat. Late arrival will eat into your time out on the water, so please be on time. We suggest you take an Uber or Free Beach ride, so you will not have to drive after enjoying adult beverages.
There is a 48 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel 48 hours before your cruise, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel within 48 hours of your trip, the $100 deposit will not be refunded. Of course, if the Captain cancels the cruise due to inclement weather, a full refund will be given.
Wear your bathing suit if you plan on getting in the water. Bring towels, sunscreen, camera or phone, polarized sunglasses, and any food and beverages you wish to enjoy. We ask that you put sunscreen on PRIOR to boarding the boat, so no stains will be left on the seats.
The majority of the pick ups will be from War Veteran's Memorial park BOAT RAMP. It will be the very first left turn just after entering the park. The address is 9600 Bay Pines Blvd. St. Petersburg, FL 33708. If you are staying at an Air B-n-B on the water with a safe dock, we can pick you up right there for a small additional fee.
Send us a message with any comments, questions, or scheduling concerns. We will get back to you soon!
